DoCD Kit 3.0

The DoCD kit 3.0 is an advanced evaluation board with DCD on-Chip Debugger socket, which allows to test HDL designs in Cyclone-II FPGA device with developed peripheral environment. The board has SRAM and FLASH memory devices, USB PHY interface and gives ability to extend its functionality by using external IO Boards. The DoCD Kit 3.0 is consisted of the following main parts:

  • Hardware parts:
    • FPGA PCB board with 512k x 16b of FLASH, 2M x 16b of SRAM, Cyclone-II EP2C20 chip, 3 switches, 2 color LEDs, Compact Flash socket,audio device, video device, I/O board connector.
    • HAD2 Device
    • JTAG programming cables
  • Software parts:
    • DoCD Debug software
    • DoCD target driver for Keil uVision2 tool
    • DoCD target driver for IAR Embedded Workbench
  • Project files and tutorials ready to use with
    • DoCD Debug software
    • Keil uVision2 tool
    • Example project entity for Compact Flash Card,LEDs, general purpose switches managing, mouse and keyboard PS2 sockets.
  • Printed documentation

Package Content

Delivered package is consisted of two PCB boards, connector cables, programming cables, CD-ROM, and printed documentation. A CD-ROM contains DoCD Debug Software, documentation files, hardware & software applications.

  • Hardware Assisted Debugger communication device - so called HAD2 Kit

The HAD2 Kit is designed to be used in conjunction with DoCD Debug Software to communicate with 8051/80390/PIC microcontrollers equipped with DoCD Debug IP. Such core can be run with any FPGA, ASIC chip user may have, so the HAD2 Kit can be delivered, as standalone package.

  • CYCLONE-II EP2C20 FPGA based board - so called FPGA Kit 3.0

  • Complete package comes with set of hardware and software applications, as well as with preprogrammed 8051/80390/PIC IP Core inside EPCS16 configuration memory. This memory configures FPGA chip during power-up, and allows DoCD Debug Software or Keil-uVision2 debugger instant access to 8051/80390/PIC through HAD2 device.

  • Example set of 8051/80390/PIC software applications shows how to use DoCD debug system to execute and debug user program within DoCD Debug software or Keil-uVision2/3 environments.

  • Reference set of FPGA design files, provides user with 8051/80390/PIC Stratix II Netlists. It allows user to start its own hardware design, by extending project about additional logic, modules, compiling them using QUARTUS II tool, and finally uploading programming object file into FPGA board.
